Review yesterday's topics. Re: Revy - new 20 year plan.  

 

1. Housing (Are there other housing options that we need to consider for Revelstoke? Are there options that would increase affordability etc.) Micha & Aiden  

 
2. Economy (What is Revelstoke's main economy now? What will it be in the next 10-20 years? Tourism/New Business? What will the future jobs in Revelstoke be?) Noah, Justus,  

 

3. Sustainability (E.g. Food Security/Environment etc. - Where will Revelstoke citizens get their food? How many more people will move here and become residents? (Note current count is somewhere in the 8K range - what will it be in 10-20 years? How do we ensure that Revelstoke's food options and environment remain sustainable) Maya and Triston  

 

4. Recreation (What types of recreation will remain in Revy? Any new ideas for recreational opportunities that may be an option in Revy in the next 10-20 years?) Kyler, X, Jack and Aiden Hill   

 

5. Getting Around - Lian and Abby  

Class discussion and sharing of your ideas :)

Discussion and comparison to our novel - No Fixed Address. June 17 2021 Ted Talk Project Continued. . .

Attendance.  Self Guided Reading Students - 20 min.  Class to clean their desk and then move upstairs to the Tech Lab - to work on Assign 11 Teams. Students have already been provided an intro to this assignment earlier on in the week. Tech Lab Upstairs - key located in library.  Student Task - June 17th - goal today - to complete location of a Ted Talk of your interest. Watch and listen. Note down main points and perhaps 2-3 quotes you may wish to you in your summary paragraph. Complete your MLA reference sheet for this assignment (Instructions in Teams Assign 11 & work on completing your 2 paragraphs for this assignment).  Note: Last in class day to work on this assignment will be Monday June 21 2021.
